Consulting
When a client is creating a new position or is unsure as to the exact skill set required, we can work with them to perform a scoping exercise and to build a job description. This would include defining the objective of the role, the profile of the individual, and a matrix of assessment criteria. We can also help to look at the make-up of a Pan-European management team, conduct a gap-analysis, and look at succession-planning over 1-3 year period.

During this exercise we will spend a day on client site meeting key people in the business, in order to ascertain the individual needs of the business and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural environment. We will then draw from our knowledge base (acquired through hundreds of successfully completed searches) to challenge and educate our client where appropriate, in order to create a realistic and attractive specification to take to market.

We offer advice around salaries, industry trends, general market intelligence, and perhaps most importantly, how to position your business to make it as attractive as possible to the best talent. We can also help with interview training, psychometric testing, personality-profiling, and management assessments.

Interviewing Techniques
Part of our process is to conduct an in-depth one-to-one with prospective candidates before they are short listed. The interview methods we incorporate include scenario-based questioning, cognitive process profiling, behavioural and case-based techniques. Our experienced interviewers drill-down into skills, knowledge, self-image, values, habits, motives, and emotional intelligence. Candidates will be asked to demonstrate ability and track-record of accomplishments around areas such as leadership, teamwork, motivation, brainpower, and lateral thinking.

Enigma will follow different vetting procedures according to the project being delivered. This could vary from technical testing, validation and benchmarking, to portfolio evaluation and assessment. For more commercial roles we will qualify prospects around sales process, accounts sold to, deal sizes, decision-maker contacts, personal network, who else was involved, lifecycle, what question they ask, why they win, why they lose, how they stay alert to danger signals and rescue situations, sales training, strengths, weaknesses, motivations and drivers, etc. We will also look for deal lists, check P60s and take informal references prior to a shortlist being presented to our client.

Upon completion of the background check, clients receive a report which either confirms a candidate's integrity, or reveals any discrepancies, therefore allowing informed recruitment decisions to be made about the people our clients employ.
